A Wifes Phone Bloody Ink [Tested ›]

There are three things you never expect to find on your partner’s phone: a text you weren’t meant to see, a photo that changes everything, and the color red.

I have interpreted this as a prompt to write a narrative blog post based on those four keywords:

I looked back at the photo. The “blood” was crimson ink—Diamine Red Dragon. A specific shade made to look exactly like dried blood.

But last Tuesday, I found all three.

Let me rewind. We all know the stereotype: the suspicious spouse snooping through a phone in the dark. That wasn't me. I wasn't looking for proof of an affair. I was looking for the grocery list. But muscle memory is a liar. I opened the photo gallery instead.

At first, I thought it was ink. My wife is an artist—a calligrapher who leaves trails of navy and black across wedding invitations. Her hands are always stained. Her phone screen always has smudges.
