Abstract The term "BustArtist" represents a specialized niche within digital art where creators focus on the production of busts—sculptural representations of the human head, neck, and upper thorax. While traditional bust carving dates back to the Roman Empire, the contemporary BustArtist operates at the intersection of anatomical mastery, 3D modeling software, and emerging markets such as tabletop gaming, fan collectibles, and VR avatars. This paper examines the technical skills, tools, cultural significance, and commercial pathways defining the BustArtist today. 1. Historical Context: From Marble to Mesh The bust originated as a funerary or commemorative object. In classical antiquity, it preserved the likeness of emperors and philosophers. The BustArtist of the 21st century replaces chisels and Pentelic marble with stylus pens and subdivided polygons. However, the core challenge remains unchanged: capturing the essence of a personality within the confines of the shoulders and neck.
