Why? Because the installer asks me to connect the USB cable at the exact moment a solar flare could disrupt the handshake . Too soon? “Printer not found.” Too late? “Connection timed out, please restart.” I restart the printer, the computer, my coffee, and my will to live.

I head to Canon’s website. It feels like a digital labyrinth designed by someone who hates printers. There are three different “MG2200 series” drivers, none of which say “MG2206” explicitly.
