The concept of Friends with Benefits (FWB) relationships has gained significant attention in recent years, particularly among the youth in Tamil Nadu. This study aims to explore the dynamics of FWB relationships in Tamil Nadu, examining the latest trends, cultural implications, and the factors influencing this phenomenon. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining both qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis methods. The study reveals that FWB relationships are becoming increasingly popular among Tamil Nadu's youth, with many individuals engaging in such relationships for convenience, emotional support, and physical intimacy. However, the study also highlights the challenges and risks associated with FWB relationships, including the potential for emotional attachment, social stigma, and health concerns. The findings of this study contribute to a deeper understanding of the complexities surrounding FWB relationships in Tamil Nadu, shedding light on the cultural, social, and psychological factors that shape this phenomenon.
Previous studies on FWB relationships have primarily focused on Western cultures, with limited research on the Indian context, particularly in Tamil Nadu. Existing studies suggest that FWB relationships are often characterized by a lack of commitment, emotional intimacy, and clear boundaries (Bauserman, 2006; Armstrong et al., 2012). In India, the concept of FWB relationships is relatively new, and research on this topic is scarce. However, studies suggest that Indian youth are increasingly adopting Western values and lifestyles, leading to a rise in FWB relationships (Kumar et al., 2016). friends with benefits tamil latest
