Say what you want about the later seasons, but Season 6 is an absolute masterpiece of payoff:

🔹 – Still the most visceral 20 minutes of television ever filmed. (And yes, OpenH264 handles the chaos of cavalry charges surprisingly well.) 🔹 “The Winds of Winter” – The first 10 minutes (Cersei + wildfire + piano) is a cinematic gut punch. The H.264 compression holds every single tear and explosion. 🔹 Jon Snow’s resurrection – “I did warn you not to trust me.” 🔹 Hodor. 🥺 Still too soon. game of thrones season 06 openh264

S6 > S5, S7, S8 combined. Change my mind.

Just finished my annual rewatch of (OpenH264 encode – because sometimes you need that crisp balance of file size and battle scene clarity).

If you’re grabbing the OpenH264 release, the encode is solid – no macroblocking during the snow scenes at the Wall, and the night shots of Meereen are actually watchable. Respect to the scene.
