He smiled.

Leo sighed. "It’s not haunted. It’s neglected. You installed a generic driver, not the full feature driver. It’s confused. It thinks it’s an AI now."

"Odd," he said.

That night, the printer printed on its own. A single page: "UPDATE AVAILABLE. DO NOT IGNORE."

Albright printed a test page. It was perfect. Boring. Normal.

Panicked, he called Leo. "It’s haunted!"

The next morning, his computer wallpaper was gone. In its place: a pixelated image of the Epson logo. Every document he opened had a watermark: "DRIVER OUT OF DATE."

From that day on, he never ignored a driver update again. And every time the L4150 whispered to life, he swore he could hear it say, "Thank you for speaking my language."
