It began, as most bad ideas do, with a late-night download.
Now the terminal glowed amber. The lamp cursor pulsed.

I should have powered off. Pulled the USB. Burned it.
But I still had the crypto. And the quiet. It began, as most bad ideas do, with a late-night download
I turned. My bedroom door was closed. It had been open a second ago.
Instead, I typed: First wish: give me the password to my old crypto wallet. The one I lost in 2021. I plugged it into the ThinkPad, mashed F12,
The screen did not respond for thirty seconds. Then the background video of the child’s bedroom changed. The mobile stopped spinning. The crib was no longer empty. Something lay in it, but the video resolution dropped to 240p, pixelated and churning, as if the jinn was trying not to show me clearly.
