“Deal,” Leo said, pulling up the first episode of Frieren as the rain pattered against the window. For the first time in weeks, the screen didn’t look like a wasteland. It looked like a doorway.

Leo thought for a moment. “The last thing I truly loved was Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood . The mix of magic system, brotherhood, and a tight, perfect ending.”

Mira snapped her manga shut. This was a mission. “Okay. Let’s triage. What are you in the mood for? Action? Cry-your-eyes-out drama? Brain-off comedy?”

Leo winced. “Too bleak. I need some hope. Something where the good guys actually win without a million caveats.”
