Apache OpenOffice on macOS is a legacy product kept on life support. It fails to meet basic expectations for performance, security, or user experience on any Mac released after 2018. Its only remaining virtue is price, but free does not compensate for security risks and workflow friction. The open-source torch has passed to LibreOffice for Mac users.
