So Pramukh Ime did something unusual for him. He did not rush. He did not cry. He simply took three deep breaths. Then he looked at the mess differently. Instead of a problem, he saw a chance to practice a new way.
From then on, whenever Pramukh Ime felt the urge to hurry, he would whisper to himself: “Stand still. Breathe. Then ask for help.”
But then he remembered something his grandfather once said: “When sugar spills, don’t chase the grains. First, stand still.”
Pramukh Ime was known in his small village as a person who always wanted to help right now . If a friend needed a pencil, he would jump up so fast he knocked over his water cup. If his grandmother needed her shawl, he would race to get it so quickly that he often forgot which room it was in.
He called his younger cousins, Mira and Sam. “I made a mistake,” he said calmly. “Can you help me?”
That evening, Pramukh Ime wrote a small note and stuck it on his mirror. It said:
As they worked together, Pramukh Ime noticed something wonderful. Mira carefully swept the sugar into a clean bowl. Sam used the sieve to remove tiny dust bits. Pramukh Ime wiped the sticky spots on the counter.
